How it works• • •

Step 01

Write your day

One log per day, and a question waiting on the blank ones. Write what happened, or answer it in a chat with Seneca and let him file the notes.

@win Long day, but the demo landed.

@lesson I over-prepare when I'm nervous. Second time I've noticed.

@idea Morning pages, but only three lines?

Step 02

Start lines with @tags

A line that starts with @lesson or @gym files itself onto that tag's timeline. The rest of the day stays plain prose.

Step 03

Explore your tags

Every tag reads itself back to you: how often, how long unbroken, what it travels with. Then ask the AI about any one of them.

41 entries · 12 weeks

@lesson

First noticed March 3, about 2.4 a week since, now 9 days unbroken against a best of 14. It tends to arrive alongside @work.

Step 04

Check your Threads

Every so often, run a discover. The AI reads weeks of entries, names what keeps returning, and cites your own lines as evidence.

Quoting your own lines

Why I built this• • •

I kept making the same mistake. I learned things, then forgot them. Six months later, the same error.

I started tagging my daily logs: @lesson when something clicked, @idea when something sparked. Then I could actually see my own patterns. The AI would read them back and say things I hadn't noticed.

That's what this is. Not a note app. A reflection system that actually reflects.

FAQ• • •

A daily log app with an intelligent tag system. You write each day, tag your thoughts with @tags, and the app surfaces patterns, threads, and insights across everything you've written.

A tag is a line that starts with @. Write @lesson followed by the lesson, and that line is filed onto the @lesson timeline automatically. Any word works: @gym, @idea, @mom. The rest of your entry stays plain prose.

Seneca is the voice on the other side of the chat. On a day when a blank page feels like too much, he asks about your day, follows what you actually say, and turns the conversation into short tagged notes in your log. He opens only when you open him.

The AI reads your actual log entries to answer questions about your logs and tags, and to surface recurring threads with evidence quoted from your own writing. It reads your real words, not summaries.

Your data is stored securely in your account and never sold or shared. AI features require the server to read your content to generate insights, and that is the only reason.

Yes. The AI never reads your journal uninvited. It runs only when you ask it a question, open Seneca, or start a discover, and nothing is analyzed in the background. Skip those features and MomentoMori is simply a fast, tagged daily journal.

Yes. MomentoMori is free while it is in active development, and the full app is available from the moment you sign up. If paid plans are introduced later, core journaling will stay free and your entries will always remain yours.
